Castle
palace hotel
The new, in neo-classical style built 126-kaul castle palace hotel
Berlin is about 2 minutes walking distance away from the historical town center
Alt-Kaulsdorf in the east part of Berlin in a quiet location. In direct distance to the
castle, there are many convenient transport connections. In the south, the federal highway
1 passes by. In addition to that, the town is connected to the Berlin subway and tram net.
You can reach the Alexanderplatz in the city center of Berlin on direct way without
changing trains in about 20 minutes from the stations North-Kaulsdorf (about 3 minutes
walking distance from the 126-kaul castle palace hotel Berlin) and Wuhletal. In the same time, you can also
reach the densely wooded area of Markisch-Oderland in the east outskirts of Berlin. The
driving time by tram S 5 to the tramway station Friedrichstrasse is about 25 minutes, to
the tramway station Bahnhof Zoo, about 35 minutes. Potsdam, with its castles and
parks, is also reachable per tramway.
The furnishing of the 126-kaul castle palace hotel
Berlin bears many highlights, for example numerous parquet floors, marble, stucco walls
and ceilings, crystal chandeliers, stylish furniture and a lot of mirrors.
Despite the classical ambiance, the house is furnished with the most modern technology.
Almost 50% of all rooms have a balcony. |
The new built castle, one of the most romantic
hotels in the east part of Berlin with its stylish furnished hotel rooms, apartments and
suites with balconies or roof terraces, offers a comfortable housing and an enjoyable
stay. In the hotel restaurant and other gastronomic premises of the hotel, exclusive
hospitality and various culinary pleasures await the hotel guests. The different rooms are
suitable for celebrations of every kind as well as for conferences, seminars and meetings.
In the mansion, which belongs to the hotel, there are also rooms with integrated kitchens.
Excursion destination Berlin
Mitte
With the help of the subway connection U5 and the
tramway connection S5, the city center of Berlin is reachable very quick. In Berlin, you
can visit famous sights like the Alexanderplatz square with the 369 meters high television
tower, the Brandenburg gate where Berlin Wall, which divided the city into two parts,
stood until the year 1989. Worth seeing is also the Reichstag (seat of the German
parliament), the Nikolai church, the St.-Hedwig's cathedral, the Berlin dome as well as
numerous other churches, profanity buildings, places and museums. Animal park Berlin-Friedrichsfelde
You can reach the animal park Berlin-Friedrichsfelde
per subway after 4 stations and about 10 driving minutes with the subway line U5 in west
direction. The animal park was founded during post-war times in the middle of the castle
and pleasure park Friedrichsfelde, whose origins reach back to the elector Friedrich
Wilhelm. That's why Berlin has another animal park in addition to the zoo, which is
located in the western part of the city. In the animal park, there are numerous species,
which have almost died out in nature. Beside the outdoor premises, the animal park
Berlin-Friedrichsfelde also hosts animals in large buildings like the Alfred-Brehm-House
with big and small wildcats and the pachyderm house with elephants, rhinoceroses and manatees. In the tropical hall, you can find many
plants and birds from different continents and as a special attraction, giant
Indian fruit bats. The halls
also allow a pleasant visit, even if the weather is bad. With a total population of about
8000 animals, the animal park Berlin-Friedrichsfelde is one of the largest animal parks in
the world. A trip to the park will remain an unforgettable experience. |
Kaulsdorf
In the year 1285, a town called Kaulsdorf was first
documentary mentioned. The town stretched out on the "Wuhle" lowland north of
the historical trading road from Berlin to Frankfurt on the Oder River. Until today, the
medieval structure of the town center, which is under monumental protection, has been
preserved. The new constructions perfectly fit into the old structure and together they
create a harmonious picture. In 1920, Kaulsdorf became a city part of Berlin. Despite its
affiliation to the capital city of Germany, Kaulsdorf has preserved its rural character.
The landmark of Kaulsdorf is the town church. There's a playground closeby with lots
jungle gyms and other playing constructions. Peaceful little places are at the lakes of
Kaulsdorf, the Butzer lake, the Habermannsee lake and the Kiessee lake. Since these lakes
don't belong to the drinking water protection area, bathing is not allowed.
Church of Jesus Christ / Steeple museum
On the village meadow of Kaulsdorf, which is
surrounded by large trees, you can find the protestant parish church, which was built from
field stones in 1300. Today, it's one of the oldest village churches of Berlin. Since
1912, it carries the name "Church of Jesus Christ".
The church steeple experienced quite a changeful history. In 1794, the old steeple was
replaced by a different one. But already 25 years later, that steeple had to be knocked
down because of its dilapidation.
A new brick stone tower was built. This brick stone tower was demolished after an
artillery bombardement during the end of Second World War. The house of God had to exist
without a steeple for more than 50 years until finally, in 1999, a new steeple was
constructed. In the present steeple, you will find an interesting steeple museum which
hosts many valuable items, for example a greeting card which was sent to the church parish
by Friedrich Wilhelm III in the year 1824.
Spirits factory
In the year 1931, Apollon Schilkin and his wife
Natalia founded a spirit beverages factory on the estate Alt-Kaulsdorf. The former purveyor
to the court of the czar fled in 1921 from St.
Petersburg. After the death of Apollon, his son Sergej took over the company of his
parents 1944. This company advanced to be the vodka supplier of the russian Red Army. Also
during the times of the German Democratic Republic, Sergej Schilkin kept private shares of
the company, before it was completely nationalized in 1972. The reunion of Germany made it
possible that Sergej Schilkin could be the boss of his private family company again since
July 1990. On the company premises, you can find flags of the czar's colors white, blue
and red. In the house itself, you can find a carpet which Sergej's father had received as
a present from the czar. The company can be visited on the official open day. |
